Pasir Panjang has played multiple roles in the course of Singapore history and has many places to explore.

 

There are natural reserves, with lots of opportunities to trek, stroll or just to be near to nature. If you like cultural, there are World War Two sites, Colonial landmarks, Temples, Monasteries and many other tourist attractions.

 

All these attractions are 10 to 20 minutes walk away or 5 minutes by taxi.

 

There are also dining for all budgets and tastes (Chinese, Western, Islamic, Indian....), cafes, pubs, entertainment places and 24 hour convenient stores.

 

Below are some of the places you may like to explore:

 

In and around Pasir Panjang

 

 

Har Paw villa (Tiger Balm Gardens)

 

A former villa now open to the public. The gardens are decorated with sculptures of characters from Chinese history and legends.

From Peach Garden: 10 minutes by bus, 5 minutes by taxi

 

 

Bukit Chandu (opium hill)

 

The place where opium was processed by colonial authorities. A WW2 museum today.

 

20 minutes walk (on a hill top), 5 minutes by taxi

 

 

 

Temple of Gratitude

This temple was built after WW2 in memory of different ethnic groups who died during the war. A key attraction in this temple is their green feature.

The temple is designed to be self sustaining in energy and water.

 

15 minutes walk

 

Labrador Nature Reserve

 

A nature reserve and a World War Two site.

 

The nature reserve sits on top of a cliff and has many monuments from the British colonial period. The park is free but charges to some WW2 sites. Lots of greenery and history.

 

15 minutes walk, 5 minutes by taxi

 

Near Pasir Panjang

 

A short distance away is Sentosa and Vivocity, the latest and biggest shopping centre in Singapore.

 

Located in that area and opening very soon is one of the 2 casinos in Singapore.

 

Outside Pasir Panjang

 

 

On most Saturdays, you can get a free ride to the Shuang Lin Monastery for the Cultural Compass tour.

 

Shuang Lin Monastery is the oldest Buddhist monastery in Singapore and a National Monument.
